I was a CTMH Consultant for about ten years when my children were little and I was a teacher. When I left teaching and eventually became a massage therapist, I didn't have as much time for scrapbooking gatherings and classes, so I left the company.
2020 brought my massage therapist career to an abrupt stop. I haven't massaged since March 16th, 2020, and while I was home in the shut down, I began to think about joining Close to My Heart again. It's definitely a family, as I am still friends with many of the consultants (now called Makers) from my first time with the company. I joined again back in the summer, under my friend Shannon Baker, whom I have always admired for her online savvy and friendly demeanor. Shannon and I had some similar stuff in our personaly lives as well, so when I decided to rejoin, I chose Shannon!
In 2020, CTMH decided to make some changes of their own, that they'd been planning for a long while. One of those things was the change from Consultant to "Maker", a change I really like! I am a MAKER, I like scrapbooking and card making, but also paper crafting, Minc-using, craftiness in general! Maker suits me much more than consulant did. Another change is to how we run our businesses. Before 2020, much of CTMH and other scrapbooking/stamping companies were using a home gathering/party model. 2020 changed that, big time! We now use the internet for everything! From online Facebook parties to videos on YouTube and Instagram and yes, Facebook again, we are nearly 100% online. It is DEFINITELY possible to have an online crop! I have done it and it was fun! CTMH holds so many events for us on their own Facebook page and we get to see how the "pros" cut efficiently and quickly and use embellsihments in ways we never thought of. Online is not a bad thing, it's easier than ever to figure out and going LIVE no longer scares me!
If you have decided that papercrafting is your happy place, as it is mine, and you're thinking of joining CTMH, please shoot me an email and I'll be happy to address any questions or concerns. My email is jcox42412@gmail.com. Happy crafting!!
